I have never written an online review before, but this book has become such an essential part of my music listening that I felt compelled to encourage others to try it.
I have used this book extensively to read about my favorite music. Sometimes I wholeheartedly agree, sometimes I learn or realize things that I did not know, and sometimes I disagree with the author (though not very often) and have a silent debate before moving on.
The above is something that I often enjoy doing with this book but, by far, the most value that I have gotten comes from learning about artists and bands that were never on my radar, checking them out online, and finding myself playing some albums to death that I didn’t even know existed.
This book is clearly a work of passion from the author and a true gift for anyone to own. I can’t envision a time that I won’t refer to this book.

The Story Of Rock and Soul Music Album Reviews and Lists edition by Scott Floman Arts Photography eBooks Reviews

Absolutely one of the most informative and interesting musical reference books I've ever read. It is my go to for any purchase I make. Author does a fantastic job of reviewing and analyzing a myriad of music genres.
One of the best books on rock and soul I've ever read. It introduced me to a lot of artists I was unfamiliar with. Highly enjoyable.
The author obviously loves music and it comes through in his writing. If you still love full length albums, this book will have you reaching for your favorite albums and will also likely help you discover some new favorites.
This book is a must for anyone who loves rock and roll. It’s invaluable as a reference book, entertaining to dip into at any point, and so amusing and insightful you won’t want to put it down. The breadth and depth of Floman’s knowledge and taste are incredible, but unlike some other critics, he’s not trying to show off or impress. If you’re looking for a snark-fest, you won’t find it here. Floman is a true believer in the power, the glory, and the joy of rock music and his book is a blast. Highly recommended.
You paid for it and you cannot download the document, it is a big shame, you only can read this document, it is not correct since you have paid and you cannot have it on your computer hard disk, I will never buy a document like this.
This book is an awesome read! I read mine all the time on my kindle, and often compare Scott's ratings to my own!!! Some would call that crazy, but it's what music nerds do! Its a huge source for amazing information when shopping or just for fun around the house! Artists as diverse as The Cure, Stevie Wonder, Metallica, Neil Young, Yo La Tengo, The Beatles, Otis Redding, Bob Dylan, Bob Mould and many many more are reviewed thoughtfully and thoroughly with a grading system that helps separate the great from the good, good from the average, and the average from the awful. I hope to be as organized and informative someday as MR. Scott Floman. 5 Stars, or as he would say, an A plus.
I downloaded the book a few weeks ago and have used it and enjoyed it several different ways. A few times I used it to help me purchase an artist's music-using Mr Floman's write-ups to help me pick which discs to start with. Sometimes I just browse through it to read his opinion about discs I'm familiar with- he often gives a perspective i'd not thought of -pretty cool! Finally, I love the "top" lists -Best bands, best guitarists, etc. If this was discussed on an interactive forum, I suspect there would be hours of heated debate. All in all , this bargain of a book is a must for Rock music fans!
