We recently moved from New York City to London. We found this book first in London (and bought it for our first christmas here). I decided to buy the NYC version for a friend, who recently moved from the UK to NYC. I was glad I read their version before buying a copy for myself (since we spent 12 christmas' there prior to this year), because the wording is almost identical! The buildings referenced are city-appropriate, but the rest of the story is almost identical.. and does not necessarily make sense in all locations. It seems more relevant to London (with chimneys), and not so much in NYC (where there are far fewer chimneys). I guess if you pic one copy, than it's a cute book. But don't think you will find much variations if you try to start a collection, or buy the same book with another city. The first version was cute.. seeing the next was a copy-cat left me a little disappointed.

This is not about New York, it's about New York City. This is frustrating as there are other STATES, but not New York state, simply New York City. What's worse is there is a Santa Comes to New York CITY version as well! Very frustrating being someone from New York STATE. Very disappointed.
This is a great book to have for anyone who has visited or lived in New York City and seen how beautiful it is at Christmas. It's a kids book but this adult loved it too.
We buy our kids these books each year for the city we will be visiting. Great Christmas present.
Our granddaughter just moved to New York and I thought this book would be very appropriate for her. She loves the to read and loves the story.
Kids love reading about Santa coming to their town. My niece was wide-eyed when we read it. Well made and a great gift for young ones.
I saw the NJ version and was hoping this would be similar in having towns from all over the state listed. But it is only about NYC. cute though and if you have a child celebrating Christmas in NYC it's PERFECT!!
A fun book about Santa's trip on Christmas Eve.
If you are thinking of getting more than one "Santa is coming to . . . " book, I'd suggest NOT, because they are very similar. . . my kids quickly figured out that "Santa is coming to New York" (which we bought for their cousins), was very similar to "Santa is coming to the Carolinas" (where we live).
But they are really VERY fun books ) (on their own!)
