I have been a fan of Merry Farmer for quite a while. This book was another great read. The story between Willow and Amos was a sweet one. They each needed one another to feel confident in their futures.
I love this series. Mailorder brides for each state by several authors, what a great concept. This story combines Amish community and values to the mailorder bride story with such a happy loving ending.
I believe this is my first time reading Merry Farmers books but I am definitely going to check out her other books! I loved this story the courage of willow and her trials. I caught myself holding my breath and smiling a lot throughout!
When Willow is forced to step out on her own and marry a complete stranger she had no idea of the troubles they would face. I loved how this book brought Willow back to her roots and since I'm original ally from the Keystone state this book especially resinated with me. A lovely sweet read.
Merry Farmer has done a wonderful job with the 2nd in the American Mail Order Brides series. I love how there was some conflict but that was overcome. I liked how it was about the Amish. The authors are using the times and cultures of the states and I like that. I can't wait to see how the other books will turn out,
Merry Farmer is a very good writer and I enjoyed this story just as much as I enjoyed her other books.
Willow is a rather timid girl who has very little self-esteem and thinks that everything that goes wrong is her fault. Amos was raised Amish till the age of 14. Then his parents left the community, but he stayed at the farm while not being part of the community. Little did he know that getting a mail order bride would change his life so much.
I loved this book! Loved the descriptions. Willow and Amos are wonderful, complex characters and I loved the secondaries, especially Mark and Beth, as well. I identified with Willow right away because I'm also clumsy and now that I have arthritis, it's even worse. I love that Amos was so patient and understanding with her. Beth was such a big help showing Willow how to do things for herself around the farm. Laura was so mean to Willow, calling her a "cow," which I thought was uncalled for. I was so glad when Amos and Willow's friends put her and her husband, Saul, in their place. I haven't read any of Merry Farmer's books before, but I will be checking them out.
